CALID B.

Calid B. is a Chicago-based producer, emcee, and DJ, pioneering Afrobang—a unique fusion of Afrobeat, hip hop, and African rhythms. Inspired by his upbringing as a first-generation African growing up in Columbus, OH, Afrobang bridges the cultures of the African diaspora and Black America. Since 2016, Calid has built a global community through music releases, a weekly radio show, and merchandise that has shifted the culture. Outside of Afrobang, Calid also works as a digital media strategist and creative lead for top brands such as Nike, Simply Spiked, Miller Lite, Miller High Life, McDonald's, and Family Dollar, while also teaching in the Business and Entrepreneurship School at Columbia College Chicago.
